10am - 10.30 am: Coffee and meeting each other
10.30am - 11.15am: What is advocacy? We talk about different types of advocacy and when they should be used.
11.15am - 12.30 pm: Role of advocate. We talk about the different ways an advocate can work
12.30 pm - 1.30 pm: Lunch and getting to know each other.
1.30 pm - 2.15 pm: What an advocate CAN do and what they can't do; this is called "advocacy boundaries"
2.15pm - 3.15pm: Choices. We talk about how to make sure you get real choices in your life and about the responsibilities that go with choice
3.15pm -3.45pm: Summary and group discussion
Day 2
10am - 10.30 am: Coffee and sharing ideas
10.30am - 11.30 am: What is self-advocacy? We discuss how self-advocacy started in the USA and how it grew. We show why self-advocacy is different from all other types of advocacy.
11.30am - 12.30 pm: Speaking Up groups (1). We explain what speaking up groups are. We explain why Speaking Up groups are important to self-advocacy. We talk about good and bad Speaking Up groups and what makes a good Speaking Up group
12.30 pm - 1.30 pm: Lunch and talking about things
1.15pm - 2.15 pm: Speaking Up groups (2). We show the different ways that Speaking Up groups can be used. We give examples.
2.15pm - 3.15 pm: Speaking Up groups (3). We show how Speaking Up groups can be set up and kept independent. we set up our own group.
3.15pm -3.45pm: Summary and group discussion
